Leszek J. Chmielewski is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Applied Informatics and Mathematics of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Construction Machinery Engineering, Warsaw University of Technology, Poland in 1985 and later he received D.Sc. (habilitation) from Institute of Fundamental Technological Research, Polish Academy of Sciences, Poland in 2008. His main areas of professional interest are: Image processing (accumulation methods, Hough transform, edge detection, segmentation, image enhancement, feature extraction, ...), Medical imaging, Visual defectoscopy (defect detection and classification), Pattern recognition, Image processing in experimental methods in mechanics (fringe image processing and understanding). Professor Chmielewski is an Vice-Treasurer of the Association for Image Processing and an Executive editor of Machine Graphics & Vision - International Journal.

Urszula Ledzewicz is an Distinguished Research Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Lodz, Poland in 1984. Her main research interests are: Optimal Control Theory, Optimization and Biomathematics. Professor Ledzewicz is an Associate Executive Editor of Journal of Medical Informatics and Technology (MIT), an associate editor of Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering (MBE), Folia Mathematica, Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems - Series B (DCDS-B), International Journal of Mathematics in Operational Research (IJMOR), Advances in Applied Mathematical Biosciences and a guest editor of Special Issue of Mathematical Biosciences and Engineering “Dynamics and Control of Biomedical Systems.”

Khalid Saeed is a Professor at Bialystok Technical University. He graduated and received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering – Electronics and Communications in 1976 from Baghdad University, College of Engineering. He studied for his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Poland in Wroclaw University of Technology and gained M.Sc. in 1978 and Ph.D. in 1981. His main research interests are: Mathematical Methods in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Pattern Recognition Algorithms, Digital Image Processing (Cursive-Languages, Biometrics). Professor Saed is an editor in chief of Advances in Computational Sciences and Technology (ACST) and International Journal of Biometrics (IJBM).
