Bogdan Smolka received the Diploma in Physics degree from the Silesian University in Katowice, Poland, in 1986 and the PhD degree in computer science from the Department of Automatic Control, Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice, Poland. From 1986 to 1989 he was a teaching assistant in the Department of Biophysics, Silesian Medical University, Katowice, Poland. Then he worked as a teaching assistant at the Technical University of Esslingen, Germany. Since 1994 he has been at the Silesian University of Technology. His current research is focused on low level color image processing with emphasis placed on nonlinear techniques of noise reduction. He has published more than 200 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.

Chandrajith Ashuboda Marasinghe (goes by Ashu Marasinghe), is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and Information Systems Engineering, Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan and visiting Professor at International University of Japan. Ashu received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aizu in 2004. He has worked in the University of Aizu, Japan, Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC), Tokyo, Japan, and Institute of Computer Technology (now School of Computing ), University of Colombo Sri Lanka. His research interests are: Kansei Engineering, Public Health Informatics, Internet Governance, Social Informatics, and Artificial Life. Ashu is the recipients of several prestigious fellowships include the Japan Society of Promotion of Science (JSPS) fellowship, Japanese Government fellowship for Ship for world Youth Nippon Maru (SWY), the Association of Overseas Technical Scholarship (AOTS) fellowship, The Center of the International Cooperation for Computerization (CICC) fellowship, Rotary Yonayama Foundation fellowship, and Hewa Nakagima Foundation fellowship. Ashu served as a General Chair in several International Conferences include HC-2008, KEAS`08, CDG`08, KEIS`06

Young Im CHO is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at University of Suwon, KOREA. Professor CHO received her Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of KOREA in 1994. She graduated at the Department of Biology and the Department of Computer Science at University of KOREA at 1987 and 1988 respectively, and got master degree at the Department of Computer Science at University of KOREA at 1990. After getting Ph.D, she worked at Samsung Electronics Company at 1995-1996. She received post-doc. degree at University of Massachusetts, USA at 2000. Her research interests are: Artificial Life and Intelligence, Neuroscience, Neural Network, Fuzzy System, Intelligent Control System, Multi Agent System, Ubiquitous System, U-Governance, Social Informatics, and Kansei Engineering etc. Professor CHO is the editor in chief of Journal of Korea Society for Engineering Education. Also, she is editors of International Journal of Korea Institute of Information Scientists, International Journal of Control Automation and Systems, International Journal of Intelligent Systems, and International Journal of Artificial Life and Robotics. She was keynote speakers at IEEE as well as International Conferences. Also, she was organizers of many international conferences such as FUZZ-IEEE 2009, ISIS 2009, INDIN 2008 etc., and will be a general chair at the international conference in 2011(ISIS 2011), KOREA.

Shusaku Nomura is a specially appointed Associate Professor in the “Top Runner Incubation Centre for Academia-Industry Fusion”, Nagaoka University of Technology, Nagaoka, Japan. He received the Diploma degree in Physics from Kobe University, Kobe, Japan in 1996, and the PhD degree in computer science from Kobe University Graduate School of Science and Technology, Kobe, Japan, in 2001. He has been engaged in a variety of research topics in biological/medical and ergonomic fields, by theoretical and experimental approaches inclusive of a mathematical model for chemo-taxis of amoeboid organism, data mining analysis for DNA microarray, brain wave studies on the optical illusion, etc. Currently his research interests include measurement of human mental health states by employing physiological bio-markers, which are the hormones and immune substances secreted in human saliva. He has published more than 100 papers in refereed journals and conference proceedings.
